Net Worthy

Net Worthy,CATALYST, Summerhall Arts, Edinburgh (2026)

My solo show Net Worthy explores how capitalism drives biodiversity loss through its emphasis on extraction via industrial agriculture and aquaculture to produce perpetual profit.

Walking unto the installation you are transported into a submerged and dying seascape, where fishing nets take on sea-life-like forms, where fish with human faces sprout mushrooms and where the once fertile land seems to scream out as it turns to sand. Each sculptural piece explores an element of profit driven food production and the devastation it leaves in it’s wake. It asks us to consider how capitalism endangers all life of earth and implores us to remember that the fates of the sea, humans and non-human animals are intrinsically intertwined.
